The eight-week project on Soulton Road was due to finish yesterday, having already been extended once. But the road will be closed again on Monday and the work will be finished on April 24.
Shropshire Council said the delays were due to ongoing supply difficulties for materials for resurfacing.
Drainage and resurfacing work was originally due to take place along Soulton Road, from February 16 to March 27.
It was then extended by three weeks and was due to finish yesterday.
A spokesman for Shropshire Council said: "The supply difficulties which have delayed the completion have been brought about by a surge in the construction economy across the Midlands."
