Poll: Are you confident you could find a job within a month of losing yours?
More than one in three workers are confident they would be able to find a new job within six months amid falling unemployment, according to a new report.
Jobs website Glassdoor said a survey of over 2,000 adults showed confidence was highest among 25 to 34-year-olds, but lower among older people.
The number of employees fearing redundancy has fallen from 35% at the end of last year, to 27%, the study found.
Two out of five men expected a pay rise in the coming six months, compared to fewer than a third of women.
Jon Ingham of Glassdoor said: "Recent reports of a brighter economic outlook in the UK are fully reflected in our survey.
"Employees are starting to feel far more confident with both their current job and the prospect of finding a new one.
"This has been a long time coming, but it seems the job market has finally turned a corner.
"Employers have had the upper hand in recent years, offering little in the way of salary increases and promotion.
"The power is starting to shift, which is great for those employees forced to put their career progression on hold over the past few years."
The report was published ahead of the latest unemployment figures - the last before the general election.
The jobless total has been falling in line with the economic recovery, standing at 1.8 million in the quarter to January, with fewer than 800,000 claiming jobseeker's allowance.
