Telford man left with impaired vision after serious assault in Shrewsbury

A man may have suffered permanent damage to his eyes after a serious assault in Shrewsbury.

The 23-year-old victim from Telford was attacked at 2.30am on Castle Walk in Shrewsbury on March 28.

A spokesman for West Mercia Police said: "The victim sustained serious injuries, possibly resulting in a permanent impairment to his vision.

"Following this, two men from Bridgnorth have been arrested on suspicion of inflicting grievous bodily harm. Both men, aged 20 and 22, are currently on police bail until May 6, pending further enquirers.

"Police are appealing for anyone with any information on this incident to come forward by calling 101, quoting incident 294 of March 28."
