Hunt for man who attacked teenage girl at railway station in Telford
A teenage girl was attacked in Telford after being followed by man as she walked to a railway station.
British Transport Police (BTP) released images of a man they wish to speak to in connection with the attack on the 15-year-old girl at Wellington railway station.
Officers also want to hear from anyone who may have been at the station at around the time of the incident, which happened just after 2.30pm on Sunday.
They are keen to trace a man who was standing on Platform 1 at the time of the attack as he may have vital information to help the investigation.
Investigating officer PC Steve Berry said: "The victim was walking to Wellington station when she became aware that she was being followed by a man.
"On arriving at the station, she went to walk up the steps to the bridge but was assaulted by the same man.
"Thankfully she did not sustain any injuries, but this was a particularly nasty attack on a lone teenage girl who has been left feeling frightened and vulnerable.
"Assaults of this nature are rare on the rail network but, when they do occur, we will do all we can to track down those responsible.
"As such, I am now calling on the public to help bring this individual to justice."
He is described as white, in his 30s, of a stocky build and was wearing a black hooded top and grey tracksuit bottoms.
"I am very keen to trace this man as we believe he may have key information which could prove vital to this investigation," added PC Berry.
"We are also appealing for any members of the public who were at Wellington station at the time to come forward, and are particularly keen to trace a potential witness who was on platform 1 around the time of the incident.
"If you are that man I would urge you to come forward and speak to police and you may have seen or heard something, which could prove vital to our investigation."
