Woman's body found at Southwater library in Telford

A woman's body has been found at Telford's Southwater library.

The body was found by police last night at the Southwater One building at Telford Town Centre. The death is not being treated as suspicious.

West Mercia Police spokeswoman Anne Tugwell said: "We can confirm we were called to the Southwater One Library in Telford at 11.38pm last night, after a woman was found deceased.

"The death is not being treated as suspicious. The woman has not yet been formally identified, and her next of kin have been informed.

"The death has been referred to the coroner."

Russell Griffin, spokesman for Telford & Wrekin Council, said: "The body of a woman was found inside the Southwater One building late on Sunday night.

"The police are not treating the death as suspicious and our thoughts are with the woman's family and friends at this very sad time.

"At this stage, we cannot make any further comment as this will be subject to a coroner's inquest and Southwater One is open as normal from 11am today."
