Woman airlifted after crash on Shropshire border
A woman was airlifted to hospital after a two-car crash on the crossroads at the heart of a village on the Shropshire border.
The collision happened on the A483 trunk road as it goes through Llanymynech.
Two ambulances and a Wales Air Ambulance helicopter were sent to the scene, on the border between Shropshire and Powys.
The helicopter landed close to the Cross Keys Hotel, where the trunk road crosses the B4398 at the centre of the village near Oswestry.
The road was blocked following the accident, which happened at around noon on Saturday.
A spokesman for Wales Ambulance Service said: "One female casualty was conveyed to University Hospital of North Staffordshire by helicopter."
He said the full nature of the woman's injuries were not yet known, but not believed to be life-threatening.
Police also attended the scene.
