The fire started shortly before 6pm yesterday at the farm in Danford Lane, Upper Ludstone, Claverley.

Nine fire appliances from Bridgnorth, Wellington and Craven Arms were sent out to deal with the barn blaze, which was confined to the brick-built barn.

A Shropshire Fire & Rescue spokeswoman said: "All livestock were removed by the farmer before the arrival of the fire service.

"Crews used breathing apparatus and hose reel jets, and then drag rakes, shovels and mathooks to deal with it.

"The fire was put out within an hour, but crews remained on scene afterwards to look into the cause, which has not yet been established."
