Telford fires treated as arson

Three fires which were started in Telford, are being treated as arson.

A motorbike was completely destroyed by fire along with about 20 feet of hedgerow in Wrekin Course at about 10.40pm yesterday.

A crew from Telford Central were sent to the scene and the fire was put out shortly after 11pm.

Earlier, at 5.15pm crews were called to two separate fires involving rubbish and vegetation at the rear of the visitor centre in Telford Town Park.

Again a crew from Telford Central was at the scene and the fire was out by 5.44pm.

Meanwhile, firefighters tackled a blaze at 10.30pm in Dawley Road in Arleston near Wellington.

About 20 tonnes of haylage were on fire and crews used a hose reel jet to put the fire out.

In a separate incident crews were also called to a bin fire in New Park Road in Shrewsbury shortly after 9.30pm yesterday evening.

And at the same time, crews were called to a rubbish fire in Chester Road, Whitchurch.
