Two men in court over alleged £20,000 jewellery burglary in Shrewsbury

Two men have appeared in court over burglaries in Shrewsbury and Telford, including that of £20,000 worth of jewellery.

Jonathan Lowe, 34, of Dodmoor Grange, Telford and Nathan Baker, 23, of Hurleybrook Way, Telford were charged on Wednesday for a burglary on Copthorne Road, Shrewsbury on May 26, where £20,000 worth of jewellery was stolen.

Baker was also charged for several other burglaries in Shrewsbury and Telford including:

  • Vineyard Road in Newport on May 19.

  • St Giles Road and Shelton Road in Shrewsbury on April 13, where the car keys for a BMW Mini and a Volvo 360 were stolen as well as a digital camera.

  • Church Road in Telford on April 28 and Trench Road in Telford on May 14, where a large amount of jewellery was stolen.

  • Queen Street in Telford on April 17 and Stanmore Drive in Trench on May 14 where a large amount of jewellery and electrical goods were stolen.

The total value of property stolen is worth tens of thousands of pounds and much of the property has since been recovered.

Both men appeared at Shrewsbury Magistrates Court today and were remanded in custody to appear at Shrewsbury Crown Court.

Neither me entered pleas.
