Man in court over attack with blade in Newport
A 30-year-old man has appeared in court on charges relating to an alleged attack with a blade in Newport.

Blake Oliver Beards, of Fishers Lock, Newport appeared before Telford Magistrates in connection with an incident on Vineyard Road in Newport last Thursday which left a man in hospital with a serious hand injury, and required an armed police response.
He was charged with wounding with intent, affray and possessing an offensive weapon in a public place.
Beards appeared before magistrates on Saturday, where he entered no pleas and is due to appear at Shrewsbury Crown Court on August 10.
Five other men who were arrested in connection with the attack have been bailed until June 26.
