Argument on bus turns into violent street attack
An argument on a bus turned into a "violent" attack in a car park, police have said.
One man was taken to hospital after the attack in the Berriew Street car park in Welshpool.
Dyfed-Powys Police officers are appealing for witnesses, saying they believe there would have been plenty of people both on the bus and in the area of the car park.
The incident happened just after 5.30pm on Monday after a bus from the Newtown area had pulled into Welshpool.
Pc Jim Baines said: "It appears that an argument on the bus escalated when the two men got off the vehicle. It must have been a violent incident because we were contacted by several people."
He said that one man was taken to hospital with injuries to his face but they are not believed to be serious.
A 46-year-old local man was arrested a short while later in the town.
Anyone with information is urged to contact police on 101.
