Woman smashes house window in anger after Newport pub refuses her entry

A woman smashed a house window in anger after she was refused entry to a pub in Newport.

The woman, who is believed to be in her mid-20s, was visiting a friend in Newport when the drama happened.

Staff at The Bridge Inn, in Lower Bar refused to let the woman in, along with a another male, as both were too drunk.

Police said the woman, who was visiting from Norfolk, then proceeded to punch the window of the house next door, smashing it.

The incident happened on Sunday at 8.20pm, and the woman was located minutes later.

The house is rented to university students and was empty at the time of the incident, but the woman has said she will pay for the damage.

Police are currently trying to find the landlord and it is unclear whether the woman will be charged.
