Firefighters tackle Telford car blaze
A fire crew were called to deal with a car which has been destroyed by a blaze in Telford overnight.
A crew from Wellington was called at 11.30pm to the fire on Sommerfield Road in Trench.
The hatchback car had sever damage and police were also on the scene.
There were no reports of any injuries.
Elsewhere a flock of sheep escaped unhurt when the van pulling their trailer went up in flames.
The van was engulfed by fire at about 2pm yesterday on the A458 at Muckley Cross, near Much Wenlock.
But the trailer it was towing, which contained the sheep, was not damaged and the animals were taken to safety. No-one nor any of the sheep were hurt in the fire.
Meanwhile, sparks from welding set 15 tonnes of straw alight.
Fire crews were also called to deal with the blaze in Sutton Maddock, near Telford, shortly before 4.30pm yesterday.
A spokesman for Shropshire Fire and Rescue Service said sparks from welding equipment accidentally set the straw on fire. One crew tackled the blaze with a hose reel jet and drag rakes and the fire was out by 5.40pm.
