Water rescue teams called over youths jumping off boats in Ellesmere
A specialist water rescue team was called out after a group of youths were seen jumping off boats into the The Mere in Ellesmere.
But once the rescue team arrived at the scene the group had disappeared.
The drama happened just before 9.20pm last night.
A spokesman for the fire service, said: "The police contacted us to report that a few youths were seen jumping off boats into The Mere at Ellesmere, and we were concerned for their safety.
"A specialist water rescue team was mobilised from Shrewsbury, with crews from Ellesmere first on scene followed by the water first responders from Oswestry.
"After an initial investigation and information gathered it became apparent that all the youths had safely left the water before the arrival of the fire service."
