At about 8.10pm last night firefighters were called to Love Lane in Cleobury Mortimer when a tree caught fire.

One crew from Cleobury Mortimer Fire Station was on the scene and used knapsacks to put the flames out. It was out by 8.30pm.

Shortly after midnight, two crews were sent to Woodside in Telford after a gas boiler in an airing cupboard started a fire.

The fire had been put out by the resident by the time crews arrived, but they used knapsacks, a short extension ladder and small gear as a precaution before leaving at about1.30am.

At 1.15am a fire involving about 15 square metres of rubbish had started.

One crew from Wellington was sent and used a hosereel jet to put the fire out by 1.30am.

And at 2.20am, another crew from Wellington was called to a home in Oakfield Road, in Shawbirch when a flood had begun in the house.

Police and ambulance were also at the house and crews worked to isolate the water mains.

No-one was hurt or injured in the incident and fire services were off the scene by 3am.
