Pictures and video: Sounds, smells and the taste of success at Oswestry Food Festival
Thousands of people turned out to enjoy the tastes and smells of Oswestry's ninth annual food festival.
More than 60 local food producers set out their stalls at the two-day festival held over the weekend.
New stalls included a patisserie and producers specialising in gluten-free and vegetarian and vegan delicacies.
Isabelle Waine, festival secretary, said the event was a huge success.
She added: "It has been a great weekend.
"We are really pleased with the turnout and it seems to be as popular as ever.
"Thousands of people have been coming through and a lot of the new stalls said they were impressed by the festival. In fact many have said they have been busier than any other show they have been to this year, which is great.
"This year we have had a few new stalls including one which sold vegan vegetarian food.
"The weather has been great as well and held out. We also had some great musical entertainment. All in all it has been a very successful and enjoyable festival."
Organised by the Best of Oswestry group, supported by Oswestry Town Council, the food festival took over the pedestrianised Cross Street, Bailey Street and New Street areas of the town on Saturday and Sunday.
This year also saw a number of other events in the town including a TNS fun in Cae Glas park on Saturday and Reggae in the Park yesterday.
Town council markets manager David Clough said the festival had a really good mix of stalls.
He added: "We have had 65 stalls this year providing everything from fresh local meats to breads and olives.
"It has been a good weekend of events for the town as well. There has been a marvellous atmosphere and a real buzz.
"It looks great with all the bunting.
"The organisers have been amazing and set up another fantastic festival."
Councillor Peter Cherrington, mayor of Oswestry, opened the festival.
He said: "At the start of the festival I presented a cheque for £1,000 to the chairman of the Eisteddfod.
"I was told this was first time any English town had given money to the Eisteddfod.
"I had a brilliant day at both events and thought they were superbly organised.
"I hope both will carry on for years to come and get stronger and stronger."
