Man who made references to killer Raoul Moat during arguments with partner breached restraining order
A father who told his ex-partner "there will be blood spilt" and made references to the killer during their arguments, breached a court restraining order just five days after it was issued.
But although magistrates at Telford voiced "great concern" that Robert Plant had broken a court order "after a matter of days" they sentenced him to 40 hours of unpaid work in the community for the offence.
Plant, of Crescent Road, Hadley, Telford, was found by police at his partner's address in Leegomery on July 20 and caught after a brief chase, a prosecutor said.
Mr Mike Phillips, prosecuting, said officers had responded to an "open line call" that emergency services had traced to the victim's home which was flagged on their system as being an at risk address.
Plant, aged 32, admitted the breach at Telford Magistrates Court.
The defendant had received the restraining order on July 15, alongside a 12-month community order with 20 days of rehabilitation work and 80 hours of unpaid work after pleading guilty to assault by beating, harassment causing fear of violence, and criminal damage.
Steven Meredith, for Plant, said the defendant had "gone round in an attempt to reconcile the relationship" and added that it was "his final attempt".
