Telford mother's Facebook bid to find attacker who did this to her son
A mother from Telford has taken to Facebook in a bid to catch the thug who did this to her teenage son.
Jake Minor, from Trench, was left with horrific injuries after being attacked outside a premises in Wellington in the early hours of last Friday.
Police issued a press release after the attack appealing for witnesses, which said the 19-year-old sustained "slight injuries that required hospital treatment".
But his mother Rachel Minor, who works for Telford & Wrekin Council, published the pictures on her Facebook page to show the true extent of his injuries and call for information to find the person or people responsible.
It has already been shared online more than 2,000 times.
Mrs Minor said: "These photos are the result of an unprovoked attack on my son outside a premises on Tan Bank between 3am and 4am on Friday morning.
"As you can see the injuries are not slight and look as though a weapon may have been used.
"Any information, even the slightest thing, we would urge people to please, please contact West Mercia Police on the non-emergency 101 number.
"This person needs to realise that he can't go around attacking people – the outcome could have been so much worse."
A spokeswoman for West Mercia Police said the force was appealing for witnesses and urged anyone with information to get in touch.
Inquiries are ongoing and no arrests have been made, the spokeswoman added.
"The victim left a premises on Tan Bank when he was approached by a white man who punched him twice to the face.
"The victim sustained slight injuries that required hospital treatment. The offender made off in an unknown direction.
"Following the attack the victim made his way down Tan Bank, in the direction of Wellington centre. The victim later found friends in Market Square where the police attended the incident.
"Police are keen to speak to anyone who may have witnessed the incident. Any-body with any information is advised to call police on 101 quoting incident reference number 66 of Friday 17th July.
