Shrewsbury man found dead in river is named
Police have named a man whose body was found in the River Severn in Shrewsbury.

John Thorley, 67, of Harlescott, Shrewsbury, was found collapsed in the river at Sydney Avenue in Castlefields at 12.20pm on July 12. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Next of kin have been informed, formal identification has taken place and a post-mortem examination will be held.
The death is being treated as unexplained and police want to speak to anyone who may have made arrangements to meet with Mr Thorley on the evening of July 11.
