Around 1,000 youngsters aged between 10 and 14 from all over the county, as well as Holland, Ireland, the Netherlands, Belgium, and France, have taken over Shrewsbury's West Mid Showground for days of activities, including climbing and zipwire, as part of the LinX 2015 joint scout and guide jamboree.
Mr Grylls, the Chief Scout, flew in by helicopter yesterday to welcome them and launch a summer manifesto to get children out and about over the summer holidays.
Mr Grylls spent about 40 minutes touring the site and meeting youngsters before flying out again.
