Mid Wales moon snap just heavenly
Holidaymaker Phillip Page is enjoying our region's new-found International Dark Sky status, with this crystal clear picture of the moon.
Phillip admits he struggles to make the most of our skies when at home in the middle of Bolton.
But while on a break in Llandinam, near Llanidloes, he has been taking advantage of night with little light pollution.
Phillip said he had been visiting Powys for a few days when he decided to take out his camera and snap the photo, which shows the rough surface of the moon.
He said: "It was taken by myself in Llandinam. We were on holiday and are now back home in Bolton, but I thought it was a lovely moon so couldn't resist taking the picture."
The picture was taken in the same week as part of our region was officially recognised as a Dark Sky Park.
