Jordan Ring, Max Morley and Jon Clark are the latest big names to join the star-studded line-up at the game on August 30, raising funds for Telford-based vet charity PDSA.

Jordan, 31, who became known for his tattoos and muscles and came fifth on the ITV reality show, said he is more than ready for the new challenge in Shrewsbury.

"I'm normally a rugby player so I've promised not to be too hard on them," he said.

"I'm sure it will be a good laugh but I'll be a bit star struck.

"I can't wait – I'm getting ready to lace up the boots."

He also spoke of life after Love Island, in which Max was crowned the winner alongside series match Jess, and Jon popped the question to Hannah.

"I've been pretty busy," said Jordan. "I've not had much chance to sleep or get back to normality but I'm just embracing it."

He added: "I've never been to Shrewsbury before – I've not really been anywhere. I'm just a little country boy so this is all new to me."

While his teammates are still loved-up Jordan did not stay with his match Zoe, although he is glad he took part and formed strong friendships with Max and Jon.

"We're like the three amigos now – they're like brothers," he said.

Funds raised at the match, at Shrewsbury's Greenhous Meadow, will help the PDSA provide its veterinary services to more than 1,300 animals a year across Shropshire at an annual cost of more than £175,000.

"I love animals," said Jordan. "I've got two labradors and a Shetland pony. Then I rescued a hamster a few months ago – I adopted him from Pets At Home because no-one wanted him."

The trio will be lining up alongside the likes of EastEnders star Jake Wood, This Morning presenter Jeff Brazier and Towie's Dan Osborne.

Tickets, starting at just £2, can be bought at www.pdsa.org.uk/football
