Police dogs and helicopter search for two women on Shropshire border
Over 20 police officers including a dog unit and the helicopter were involved in a search today for two missing women south of Bishop's Castle on the Welsh border.
At round 5am a crash was reported to police on a minor lane/ track in the Bishops Castle area.
The informant told us that she did not know exactly where she was, that there were no houses in the vicinity and that no other vehicles were involved.
She stated the accident had occurred some three hours earlier, and that the other occupant in the vehicle needed some medical attention.
Police started the search immediately and at 9.30am the two women were spotted from the helicopter in the area of the Black Mountain. After having been checked by ambulance staff, the injuries were deemed to be minor, and were treated at the scene.
Police investigations continue.
