Witness appeal after motorcyclist killed in Shropshire crash
Police are appealing for witnesses after a motorcyclist died when he hit a tree.
The accident happened on the B4368 between Shipton and Weston, near Much Wenlock, at about 5pm on Thursday.
The motorcyclist, a man believed to be in his 50s, was travelling towards Much Wenlock when the bike left the carriageway and collided with a tree.
The rider sadly died.
He was the third motorcyclist to lose his life on the region's roads in two days following a collision between two bikes on Wednesday morning near Gailey.
Kieren Bodill, corporate communications for West Mercia Police, said: "The next of kin have been informed, but formal identification has yet to take place.
"Police are eager to establish the circumstances of the collision and wish to hear from anyone who may have witnessed it, or seen the vehicle leading up to the incident."
A community first responder, who was passing, stopped to treated the biker on the B4368 until an ambulance crew and a paramedic area support officer arrived.
Despite their efforts the rider was confirmed dead at the scene.
Anyone with information is asked to contact police on 101 and quoting reference number 491s of July 30.
