Car crashes into wall of Ironbridge home

A motorist lost control and shattered the brick wall of a home.

Emergency services rushed to Lincoln Hill in Ironbridge on Friday evening.

The driver of a red Fiat Panda had driven up the hill, lost control on passing the White Horse Inn and collided with a brick column that marked the entrance to the drive way of a house.

The force of the impact shattered the brick column and sent it flying forward quite some distance.

The front end of the car was extensively damaged.

No one was injured and the the driver was able to exit the vehicle.

However, the road was completely blocked by the car and the shattered remains of the brick column.

It took place at around 8pm.

PCSO Mal Goddard, who attended the scene, said: "On arrival of a recovery vehicle, the car was safely removed and the road re-opened. The members of the public in the area were excellent, ensuring that the driver was uninjured, that the vehicle was safe, and then in clearing the road of debris."
