Blaze tackled at Welshpool car parts factory

A machine caught fire at a factory that manufactures car parts.

Firefighters were called to the blaze at 1.10pm at CastAlum Ltd premises on the Buttington Cross Enterprise Park, Welshpool, yesterday.

Six firefighters wearing breathing apparatus went into the building and put out the fire, which was confined to a die cast machine.

The company was set up 14 years ago making products for the vehicle industry.

CastAlum supplies parts to the UK, Germany, Poland, Canada and Mexico.
