Shrewsbury Town are guaranteed a colourful start to the season – after unveiling two huge murals of players.

Giant paintings of goalkeeper Jayson Leutwiler and striker James Collins now adorn concourse walls of the Family Stand of the Roland Wycherley Stand at the Greenhous Meadow.

The artwork forms the club's very own hall of fame. Leutwiler is the holder of the club record number of clean sheets in a season after keeping 27 in all competitions last term and Collins has scored more goals at the New Meadow than any other player.

The 20-foot long murals were designed and completed by Telford-based artist Neil Willis.

Both players helped paint and then signed their murals, while manager Micky Mellon also lent a hand.

"It's brilliant. I'm very proud to have a wall with my face on it in this football stadium," said Leutwiler.

"I sent a picture to my family and they all said it was amazing.

"I just think it's like a really nice present from the club so for them to do that for me makes me very proud."
