Shropshire farmer impaled on spike is home

A farmer who was airlifted to hospital after his knee became impaled on a tractor baling spike is recovering at home, it was revealed today.

Brian Morgan, who is in his 80s, is now out of hospital and mobile, according to a neighbour.

Mr Morgan was cut free by firefighters using an electric saw after the accident at a farm in Coton, near Whitchurch, on Thursday.

He was airlifted to Royal Stoke University Hospital for treatment and to have part of the spike removed from his leg.
