The appeal, launched by member of the public Jonathan Styles, claims a reduction in services at the hospital would not be acceptable. More than 900 people have signed the petition.
It comes after health chiefsruled out building a hospital between Shrewsbury and Telford and suggested maintaining A&E units at both Telford the PRH and the Royal Shrewsbury Hospitalwas unlikely – effectively meaning one of the hospitals' departments will close.
A similar appeal run by former Telford MP David Wright earlier this year attracted more than 5,000 signatures.
