Fire crews called to Westbury field fire

Firefighters have been called to a stubble field in a village near Shrewsbury after a fire broke out.

Two fire engines from Minsterley and Shrewsbury attended the scene at a field near to the Lion Pub, Hinwood Road, Westbury at just after 2pm this afternoon.

A Shropshire Fire and Rescue Service spokeswoman said: "The fire had started in two one tonne bales of hay and had spread to cover an area of 10metres by 15 metres. Two hose reel jets and one drag rake were used to put out the fire."
