Teenage girl, 15, seriously sexually assaulted in Telford

A 15-year-old girl was seriously sexually assaulted in an orchard by a church in Telford.

Police are appealing after the girl was assaulted in Madeley Community Orchard near St Michael's Church about 9.40pm last night.

The offender is described as a white male, in his early 20s, about 6ft and was wearing a dark hooded top.

Detective Inspector Jason Everett, the investigating officer, said: "We are taking this offence very seriously and urge anyone with information to come forward to police.

"We want to hear from anyone who was in the area at the time and who may have seen a man of this description.

"This would have been a traumatic incident for the victim and we commend her for coming forward and reporting this to us.

"This is an isolated incident and we want to reassure the community we are doing everything we can to find the suspect whilst working with the victim to support her through this time."
