It's full steam ahead for big Shrewsbury event
Now here's a vehicle with an interesting history. This steam-powered tractor was made in Shrewsbury almost 90 years ago.
It was used for timber logging and then sent over to Australia – and only returned to Shrewsbury 10 years ago when it was restored.
And this Bank Holiday weekend thousands of visitors will see the Sentinel Steam Tractor on display at the Shrewsbury Steam Rally at Onslow Park.
"The steam tractor is quite a spectacle to see and it's great to see it returned to Shrewsbury after all these years," said Edward Goddard, one of the rally organisers.
Mr Goddard said the event, taking place on Sunday and Monday, would be the best vintage vehicle event of the year.
He added: "It will be a showcase of working steam engines from the golden era of steam, and some superb classic vehicles from days gone by."
The rally, which is in its 53rd year, will have numerous exhibits including buses and fire engines, vintage cycles, working horses, vintage tractors, pre-and post World War II cars, classic motorcycles, and perambulators .
It will also be commemorating the 100th anniversary of the Sentinel factory being established in Shrewsbury.
Visitors to the rally will also be able to see the smallest steam locomotive from The Welshpool & Llanfair Light Railway and it will be travelling in style to the showground.
