Nigel Woolley, 45, of Buttington Road, Monkmoor, Shrewsbury, denies murdering Julia Winifred Mercer on December 23 last year.

The body of the 47-year-old finance officer, who also lived in Buttington Road, was found at Shrewsbury Dial-a-Ride's premises at Sundorne Trade Park on Christmas Eve.

Woolley's trial was expected to take place at Stafford Crown Court this week, but has been postponed at the request of the defence counsel to obtain medical evidence.

Judge Michael Chambers QC set a new trial date for February 29 next year at Stoke-on-Trent Crown Court.

There was no application for bail and Woolley was further remanded in custody.
