The budget supermarket currently has seven stores in Shropshire, including one in Newport, which opened its doors last month.

It is also building a new branch in Shrewsbury Road in Oswestry, and revealed in the Shropshire Star that it was also looking to build new sites in the south of Telford, Whitchurch, and possibly two in Shrewsbury.

The latest job announcement will see the company recruiting for its existing stores, plus the new Oswestry branch.

Jon Wilson, Aldi Regional Managing Director, said: "Aldi has seen an increase in customer numbers across its stores in Shropshire, which has allowed us to expand further with a new store in Newport, creating a significant number of job opportunities for people in the local area.

"We're looking to attract applicants with relevant retail experience from a diverse range of backgrounds, including supermarket, fast-food and clothing chains, who have the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment."

Aldi is looking for store managers, eight assistant store managers, 17 deputy store managers, 46 store assistants and 31 stock assistants in its stores in Madeley, Newport, Oswestry, Telford, Snedshill, Shrewsbury and Wellington.

Candidates with proven management experience are being targeted for the management roles.

The company said it will provide training for the positions.

The new Oswestry branch will provide around a third of the employment, with 33 new roles created at the soon-to-open store.
