Terry Eardley was due to face trial at Shrewsbury Crown Court yesterday but changed his plea to guilty at the eleventh hour in the face of 'overwhelming' evidence against him.

The 21-year-old defendant pleaded guilty to burglary at a property in Lincoln Road, Wrockwardine, Telford, on June 15 this year when jewellery, laptops, handbags and mobile phones were stolen.

Eardley, from Haybridge Avenue, Hadley, Telford, and his co-accused Tyler Titley, 18, from Crescent Road, also in Hadley, who admitted the offence at an earlier hearing, were both due to be sentenced today.
