Four taken to hospital in chemical spill at Shropshire plant

Four people were taken to hospital after a chemical spillage at a Shropshire creamery.

Shropshire Fire and Rescue Service was called to an incident at the Muller Creamery in Station Road, Minsterley, just before 9.30pm on Tuesday.

Five fire appliances including the Environmental Protection Unit were mobilised from Minsterley, Shrewsbury and Tweedale.

Operations, Hazmat and Safety officers along with a land ambulance from West Midlands Ambulance Service were also on the scene.

Crews used breathing apparatus to deal with the chemical spill.

A spokesman for Shropshire Fire and Rescue said: "We were called to the scene at 9.26pm to deal with a chemical spill. Also at the scene of the incident were the Land Ambulance Service. Four people were taken to hospital by ambulance."

The incident was deal with within two hours.
