Shropshire village's post office hours to rise in move

A post office could see its opening hours nearly double as part of proposals to relocate it to new premises.

The Post Office is proposing to relocate its Hodnet branch in Station Road, near Market Drayton, to Hodnet Village Stores in Church Street.

The new branch would offer Post Office products and services throughout shop opening hours from an open-plan till at the shop counter. It would open from 7am to 7.30pm on Monday to Friday, from 8am to 7.30pm on Saturday, and from 8am to 2pm on Sunday.

A consultation will run until November 12. Bosses say the proposed move is part of modernisation programme across the Post Office network which is designed to make it easier for customers to do business through longer opening hours.
