The Shropshire-based PCSO was dismissed for gross misconduct after a hearing held in July.

But following an appeal held earlier this month, it was found the misconduct was not gross misconduct and the PCSO was reinstated.

The hearings followed an investigation by the Professional Standards Department after an allegation of "discreditable conduct" was made against the PCSO which related to "taking covert recordings, sharing confidential material and providing a false statement to the police".

The appeal hearing found the PCSO's behaviour fell below standards but amounted to misconduct rather than gross misconduct – so the PCSO was reinstated.
