The A483 was closed in Morda after a Highway Maintenance lorry tipped over at around 3pm.
The vehicle was carrying what appeared to be a near full load of soil, much of which spilled across the popular Chester to Swansea road.
The accident took place near the Sweeney Hall Hotel between the Mile End roundabout and the Llynclys crossroads - a single carriageway section of the A483 that is regularly congested during peak hours.
Nobody was seriously injured.
The road was closed until the truck was removed at around 7.30pm.
