Businesses in a town near the Powys/Shropshire border say they are struggling to work after their mobile phone signal disappeared.

Residents of Llanfyllin have to rely on EE as its only business mobile provider, but there has been no signal since Friday.

It is understood that a problem with a mast is to blame.

Angry business owners say many firms rely on mobile phones to run their business, but they have been left unable to make or receive calls and texts.

Ruth Weston, of Baptistry UK and Aquabirths, said: "Our customers will not appreciate the fact that we are not answering our mobile calls and texts.

"We think this is appalling service from this monopoly provider in the area."

Councillor Peter Lewis said it seemed the whole of Llanfyllin was without a signal. He said: "We are having awful problems."

Nobody from EE was available for comment.
