Teenager attacked at Telford nightspot

A teenager was attacked outside a Telford nightspot after attending a private function, police said today.

The assault happened outside a club in Lion Street, Oakengates, Telford, at about 10.40pm on Wednesday.

West Mercia Police spokeswoman Holly Claydon-Bevan said: "A 15 year-old boy was stood outside the nightclub having attended a private function."

She added: "The offender was then thought to have left in the direction of the railway station. CCTV footage is currently being reviewed.

"The victim sustained head and face injuries which required hospital treatment.

"Police would like to speak to anyone who may have witnessed the incident or may have any information."
