Whitchurch man jailed for 'frightening' attack on girlfriend's mum and sister
A man who assaulted his girlfriend's sister and her mother during a drunken row at his home has been jailed.
Liam Uttley, 31, had also smashed a fish tank, damaged a TV and broke a phone during the dispute in July.
Uttley was sentenced to 12 weeks in prison having admitted two charges of assault and two offences of causing criminal damage when he appeared at Shrewsbury Crown Court yesterday.
Judge Peter Barrie told Uttley that it was a "frightening" episode for his girlfriend, her sister and her mother and he had "lost his self-control", and damaging the phone, preventing a call for help, was an aggravating feature.
Miss Samantha Powis, prosecuting, said that the incidents happened when Uttley had returned drunk to his address at Castle Court in Whitchurch and row started with his girlfriend.
The court heard that his girlfriend's sister, and later her mother, had tried to intervene between the rowing couple.
The court heard that Uttley, who had previous convictions for wounding, assault and theft, had been "very drunk" on the night of the attack.
