Mind the bullock! Shropshire train delays after escaped bull gets onto tracks
Trains on one of the major lines through the county are delayed after an escaped bull got onto the tracks.
Rail users have been warned that trains on the Hereford to Shrewsbury line that runs through the heart of the county are running late this afternoon because of cattle between Ludlow and Leominster earlier.
Hannah McCarthy, speaking for Network Rail, said: "We had a report from a train driver of a bull on the line near Ashford Bowdler level crossing at 11am.
"Network Rail staff attended the site alongside the farmer and the bull was back in the field at 12.20pm."
The problem has caused delays of up to 30 minutes to trains.
Claire Lillie, speaking for Arriva Trains Wales, said: "Due to cattle on the railway between Ludlow and Leominster, trains have had to run at reduced speed on some lines this afternoon which has led to the delays of some of our services.
"We are sorry for the inconvenience caused to our customers."
