Pensioner surrounded by youths as purse stolen outside Bishop's Castle charity shop
A Shropshire pensioner was surrounded by young people as she did her shopping during a suspected distraction theft.
The 76-year-old woman from Bishop's Castle was stopped by a man in his 20s, described as "possibly Asian", and two young women, on leaving the Dogsbodies charity shop in High Street at 11.15am on October 29.
She then discovered her purse, containing £35, was missing. Police believe the trio may be responsible for the theft.
PCSO Shaun Cullis of West Mercia Police said: "The woman came to exit the shop and there were three people coming in the door as she was going out. She said they surrounded her."
He said the lady asked the man to let her pass which he eventually did, but as she crossed the road she realised her purse was missing.
