Tools stolen from vans in Newport

Thieves escaped with tools after breaking into two vans in Newport today.

The break in happened on Stafford Road in the town during the early hours of the morning.

Pc Lee Thomas of West Mercia Police said: "In the early hours of the morning of Wednesday two works van parked on the Stafford Road area of town were broken into.

"A Sthil type saw was stolen from within one van and a similar Sthil saw and a breaker tool were taken from the other.

"A witness describes the potential offender as being a male who was last seen heading off on foot towards Newport town centre."

Anyone with information is asked to call police on 101.
