JAILED: Man found guilty of sexual activity with girl under 10
A man has been jailed for more than five years after being found guilty of three offences of sexual activity with a young girl seven years ago.
Lee Finch, 38, of Park Street in Madeley, Telford, had denied the charges relating to the girl, who was under the age of 10 at the time.
The jury had heard that the three incidents were said to have happened in a house in Shrewsbury on dates between March and October 2008.
Finch was found guilty by a jury following a three-day trial that took place in his absence at Shrewsbury Crown Court earlier this month.
On Friday he was jailed for five years for the sexual offences and three months for failing to attend court.
The court heard the victim, who cannot be identified for legal reasons, has been suffering with post traumatic stress and anxiety.
Miss Samantha Powis, prosecuting, said Finch not turning up at court had made the process "10 times harder" for the victim.
