Man hit by bus in Telford moments after stepping off vehicle

A 50-year-old man was seriously injured when he was hit by a bus in Telford moments after he had left the vehicle.

West Mercia Police are appealing for witnesses to the incident which happened in Finger Road, Dawley, at about 5pm on Saturday.

Police spokeswoman Kieren Bodill said: "The incident took place at approximately 5pm, when a 50-year-old man exited a bus on Finger Road and collided with the vehicle. Investigations are ongoing to determine the circumstances and cause of the incident.

"The pedestrian sustained serious injuries to his arm as a result of the collision and was taken to Stoke University Hospital where he remains at this time in a stable condition having had surgery to his arm."
