A letter from the Welshpool Branch of the RBL to the town council has asked for three councillors to be investigated over "disgraceful behaviour" towards members of the RBL at a presentation of the money raised by the branch's annual Poppy Appeal last week.

The letter claimed that comments were made which offended members at the meeting.

Welshpool town clerk Robert Robinson said: "I have received a letter from the RBL and the council is dealing with it in the usual way."

It has not been revealed which councillors are involved.
