Family pay tribute to teenager killed on A5 near Chirk
An appeal has been launched for witnesses to a fatal collision which killed a teenager.
Katie Griffith, 17, from Ruabon, died on Friday after being hit by a car on the A5 between Llangollen and Chirk at 11pm, outside the Llangollen Fechan nursing home.
The collision involved a black Seat Leon, and police are asking for any information on the car or on the collision.
Floral tributes have been left at the scene where Miss Griffith was knocked down.
A message from her family read: "To our beautiful daughter, sister, granddaughter, Katie.
"Words are just not enough. We won't ever get over losing you. Your laugh, your smile, your sense of humour and your kindness. We love you forever. You now truly are an angel."
Katie was the daughter of Elaine Ansloos, an employee of HSBC in Chirk, and had a brother and a step-brother.
Sergeant Jane Thomas of the North Wales Police Roads Policing Unit said: "Just after 11pm on Friday police and other emergency services responded to the scene of a road traffic collision on the A5.
"A black Seat Leon was travelling from Llangollen towards Froncysyllte near to the Maes Mawr Road junction, when it collided with a female pedestrian."
