Man suffers electric shock at his Newport home

A man was taken to hospital after suffering an electric shock at his home in Newport.

The man, believed to be in his 50s, suffered the shock at at about 1.45pm at the house in Chetwynd End.

One ambulance, along with a fire crew from Newport were sent to the scene.

John Hawker, spokesman for West Midlands Ambulance Service said: "We were called at 1.47pm following reports of a man suffering from an electric shock.

"The man was treated at the scene before being taken to the Princess Royal Hospital in Telford."
